Use of the emblem

The CHHC World Heritage Initiative was granted the right to use the UNESCO and World Heritage logo on a permanent basis. However, usage of this logo by regional stakeholders is subject to very strict conditions.

Within this context, a special emblem, inspired by the shared visual identity developed during the mobilisation campaign, supports the development dynamic. An emblem user guide was published for regional stakeholders. It comprises graphics guidelines, a toolkit, usage rules and an undertaking form.

Who can use the emblem?

- Champagne Houses, winegrowers and cooperatives,

- The founder member local authorities and their tourism/culture bodies,

- The 320 towns/villages in the Champagne area of undertaking, if up-to-date with their annual membership fees.

The toolkit contains:

- The emblem in JPEG and EPS format, four-colour and monochrome

- JPG email signature

- An FR/ENG presentation brochure about the inscription

- An A3/4 poster and A6 flyers that can be personalised with your logo

- An A4 media insert that can be personalised with your logo

- A 200cm x 100cm banner that can be personalised with your logo

- A roll-up vertical advertising banner (100cm x 200cm) that can be personalised with your logo

Becoming a Champagne ambassador

Becoming a Champagne ambassador means working to raise the profile of the Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars, and committing to working together for the benefit of the inscription.

Every Champagne stakeholder must work to raise the profile of this World Heritage inscription by sharing it widely in order to showcase and bolster the development of tourism in the area.

Several educational tools are available to help with this endeavour.

The handbook presents in a succinct, clear manner everything you need to know about the inscription of the Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars on the World Heritage List.

The inscription in 12 questions, as its name suggests, contains 12 questions and answers (FR/ENG), summarising the key points about the inscription on the World Heritage List.

The illustrated inscription is...a succinct and highly visual illustration of the "ins and outs" of the inscription.

All three publications are available on www.champagne-patrimoinemondial.org, in the Médiathèque section, Etudes/Ressources tab.

The Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars – an illustrious yet little-known world is a beautiful book and definitive guide to the entire Champagne adventure telling the story of our World Heritage List inscription (also available in English).  www.editionsdelarenee.com

Raising the profile of the area

The initiative has developed a shared signage charter, reflecting the historic interest of the vineyard enshrined by UNESCO, in order to raise the profile of the inscription and make it easy to understand. This signage conveys the historical nature of the vineyards and enables visitors, regardless of their mode of transport, to understand the identity of the Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars by providing the information that they need at each stage of their journey of discovery.

From now on, every town/village in the area of undertaking can display the fact that they are part of the Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars.

Download the area of undertaking’s signage charter and price list.
